as you might know, komplike is a new danish label with the imprint of quality, creativity and care. and now, its time for our second release. komplike002 is delivered by the dutch duo >formel< with remixes from the norwegian producer, terje bakke and komplikes own italian artist, joor ghen. on this release – which carries the name >manitoba< – we will go a little deeper, compared to our first release. the two originals >harare< and >manitoba< are both very melodic and hypnotizing tracks. terje bakke takes us another way, sound wise, in his >other way remix< and creates a more driving and old-school vibe, while joor ghen takes us into his groovy and minimal world.

what do people like balihus daniel wang and royksopp have in common? they write nice things like this about our (not so) new talent kid on the block. polosh superproducer maximilian skiba! music from a very good young polish producer, warm chords, funky melodies, think bass and guitars by chic meeting a string section by beethoven, with a touch of italo-disco and almost flamenco-like soul daniel wang he produces very nice italo disco tracks, im a fan royksopp. shanghouse is an instant hit. i would say instant classic if this wasnt so daft and meaningless. if you just heard it 5 times and feel the need to put it on another time. thats shanghouse by max skiba. then theres a great remix by victor rosado and a great slightly diverse prins thomas edit of korsakot another track.

the km editions series, admirably helmed by the mysterious keyboard masher, has always been one of the more interesting re-edit/rework labels. past installments have touched on krautrock, disco, balearica, funk, italo and what can only be described as electronic oddities. this sixth volume offers up three more impressively remixed, overdubbed and reedited gems. theres naturally much to admire, not least the omd style woozy synth-pop of stolen shapes (stealing rework), which should tickle the fancy of anyone of a balearic disposition. the same can be said about the immersive, sun-kissed pianos and shuffling grooves of -astral playground. there s also a chunk of silly but, perversely, rather good french cod-reggae in the shape of le cod-, arguably our pick of a strong bunch.

entirely off the safe path, nonconformity and badass sounds are merging for snork #72 to send the ultimate sos for genuine techno. snork enterprises meets remute out in left field with three tracks not only to save our souls, also to save our sound of raw, underground techno. in a distorted space of sound, eclectic morse-codes come floating while persistent base lines keep the machines running. sirens sound and tortured steel is building up a sphere of vibrating noise spreading all over the hull and sustainedly screaming for sos. soaring beats forecast the last burst of strength. a freak wave of forceful sounds is rearing up. scared minds are facing the darkness of endless depth, still longing for the last beam of moonlight. yet, the all-embracing wall of infinity is merciless closing the entire surface. in an ambience of distortion, finally everlasting silence is drawing through the dark deepness devouring every vivid glance. from the distance down below there remains one inward echo - the ultimate sos.
